Offshore energy production is not just about offshore wind, it is perhaps even more about exploiting the opportunities in wave power. Theoretically, the waves on a world scale contain more energy than the world needs, but so far the technology has not come far enough to get large volumes. In Norway, we also have a coast that will expose the facilities to very great stress. Utsira is therefore a perfect starting point to test this technology.
Spanish Wedge Global has been researching and developing wave power plants for over 10 years: they have now turned their eyes to aquaculture in Norway and Utsira to test their technology.
